2. Description of Service

Bank Statement Converter is a SaaS platform that enables users to convert PDF bank statements into structured Excel and CSV files using AI-powered technology. The Service allows you to:

Convert PDF bank statements to Excel (XLSX) and CSV formats
Process scanned bank statements using advanced OCR technology
Extract transaction data including dates, descriptions, amounts, and balances
Support for 1000+ banks worldwide with automatic format recognition
Export data compatible with QuickBooks, Xero, and other accounting software
Batch processing for multiple statements (premium plans)
API access for developers (premium plans)

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
One person or entity may not maintain more than one account

3.2 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service
Business accounts may be created by authorized representatives
Accounts created by automated means are prohibited

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use Bank Statement Converter only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You specifically agree NOT to:

Use the Service to violate any applicable laws or regulations
Upload files that contain malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Platform
Use automated means to access the Service beyond normal usage patterns
Share your account credentials with unauthorized parties
Resell or redistribute the Service without explicit written permission
Use the Service to process documents that do not belong to you without proper authorization
Upload fraudulent, stolen, or illegally obtained bank statements

5. Data Processing and Privacy

5.1 Your Financial Data

We use a zero-storage policy - your uploaded files are processed in real-time and immediately deleted
All file transfers are protected with bank-grade 256-bit SSL encryption
Files are processed "on-the-fly" in browser memory and never stored on our servers
You retain full ownership and control of all data you upload
We do not access, view, or retain any of your financial information

5.2 Our Data Collection

We collect minimal usage analytics to improve the Service (number of conversions, file types, etc.)
We collect account information necessary to provide the Service (email, billing information)

5.3 GDPR and Data Protection Compliance

Our zero-storage processing model ensures compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations
You have the right to request deletion of any account data we maintain
Processing is completed within your browser session with no data retention

6. Subscription Plans and Billing

6.1 Subscription Types

Free Plan: Limited monthly conversions with basic features
Paid Subscriptions: Monthly or annual billing with increased limits and premium features
Credit Packs: One-time purchase of conversion credits that never expire

6.2 Billing and Payment

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
Credit pack purchases are one-time charges
All payments are processed securely through Stripe
Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
Failed payments may result in service suspension

6.3 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing cycle
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period

7. Service Limitations and Fair Use

7.1 Usage Limits

Free and paid plans have specific conversion limits as detailed in your plan
Excessive usage beyond reasonable business needs may result in service restrictions
We reserve the right to implement additional fair use policies

7.2 File Requirements

Maximum file size: 50MB per upload
Supported formats: PDF, JPG, PNG
Files must be readable and contain actual bank statement data
Password-protected PDFs require the correct password for processing

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Our Property

The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Bank Statement Converter
Our platform is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws
Our AI algorithms and OCR technology are proprietary

8.2 Your License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal or business purposes in accordance with these Terms
This license terminates upon termination of your account or violation of these Terms

8.3 Your Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you upload to the Service
You grant us a limited license to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service
This processing license terminates immediately upon completion of conversion

9. Service Availability and Support

9.1 Service Uptime

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
We are not liable for temporary service interruptions

9.2 Customer Support

Free plan users receive email support
Paid subscribers receive priority support
Enterprise customers may receive dedicated support based on their plan

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

10.1 Service Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE"
While we strive for high accuracy (99.8%+), we do not guarantee perfect conversion results
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of converted data

10.2 No Warranties

We expressly disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including:

Merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose
Non-infringement
Accuracy or completeness of converted data
Availability of third-party integrations

10.3 Third-Party Integrations

We integrate with third-party services (Stripe for payments, etc.)
We are not responsible for third-party service availability or changes
Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months
We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
We are not liable for any damages resulting from inaccurate conversions or data processing errors
We are not liable for any tax, legal, or financial decisions made based on converted data

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bank Statement Converter, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights
Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
Your upload of unauthorized or fraudulent documents

13. Account Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may cancel your account at any time from your account dashboard
Upon cancellation, your access will continue until the end of your current billing period
Credit pack balances remain available until used or account deletion

13.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to:

Suspend or terminate your account immediately for violation of these Terms
Refuse service to anyone for any reason
Remove accounts that remain inactive for extended periods

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
Any outstanding balances become immediately due and payable
Provisions regarding data ownership, liability limitations, and indemnification survive termination

15. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time
Material changes will be communicated via email and/or prominent notice in the Service
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms
If you do not agree to changes, you must stop using the Service

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

16.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall first be addressed through good faith negotiation
Disputes that cannot be resolved through negotiation shall be resolved through binding arbitration
Arbitration shall be conducted in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's Commercial Arbitration Rules

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bank Statement Converter regarding the use of the Service, superseding any prior agreements.

19. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, pandemic, government regulations, or Internet service provider failures.
